25L top-loading daypack with LiteAir back system, a soft-flask pouch on the shoulder strap and zippered hip-fin pockets. Weighs 680 g.
ABest Lightweight
Deuter's Speed Lite Pro 25 is built for hikers who want to move fast with a light load: Deuter lists it at 680 g (about 1.5 lb) for 25 L. The LiteAir back system is a lighter take on ventilation than the full trampoline structure of the Osprey AirSpeed. A pouch on the shoulder strap holds a soft flask, the hip fins have zippered pockets, and there is a trekking-pole attachment, so water, snacks and poles stay reachable without taking the pack off. The top-loading main compartment takes a hydration bladder of up to 3 L, and the fabric is 120D recycled polyamide.
Pros
- 680 g (about 1.5 lb) for 25 L
- Soft-flask pouch on the shoulder strap and zippered hip-fin pockets
- Clean, simple organization
Cons
- Less hipbelt support than Osprey or Gregory under heavy loads
- Top-loading main compartment is slower to reach into than a panel zip
