TP-Link RE500X

The value WiFi 6 pick — a dual-band WiFi 6 AX1500 extender with a gigabit port, Access Point mode, and TP-Link OneMesh support for one seamless network with a compatible router, at a lower price than the RE605X. A step below the RE605X's AX1800 rating and the backhaul penalty applies, but an affordable route to WiFi 6 extension.

The TP-Link RE500X (AX1500) is the value WiFi 6 pick — the most affordable route here to WiFi 6 extension with a gigabit port and OneMesh. It's a dual-band WiFi 6 extender rated at up to 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz, with MU-MIMO, a gigabit Ethernet port, and both Range Extender and Access Point modes. TP-Link OneMesh support means that with a compatible TP-Link router it forms one network with seamless roaming, and setup runs through the Tether app with an Intelligent Signal Light to guide placement. Its AX1500 rating is a step below the RE605X, it's dual-band so the backhaul penalty applies, and seamless roaming needs a OneMesh router, but for affordable WiFi 6 extension it's a strong value option.
