Google announced the Fitbit Edge on October 12, 2026. Google calls it its smartest fitness band yet: a slim tracker with a hybrid OLED display that is 11.5 mm thick and, according to Google, 45% lighter than the Apple Watch Series 12.
The Edge has built-in GPS plus an altimeter. Google says GPS accuracy is up to 40% better than before. It offers more than 50 exercise modes and can automatically recognise up to 100 activities. Health features include an ECG app, a skin temperature sensor and Health Guardian, which looks at trends such as blood pressure.
Google quotes up to 7 days of battery life, and 5 minutes on the fast magnetic charger give roughly a day of use. The tracker is water resistant to 50 m. It is also described as the first repairable Fitbit tracker, with a replaceable battery. It comes in four colors: Obsidian, Fog, Olive and Canyon.
The Fitbit Edge works with Android 11 or later and iOS 16.4 or later, and needs a Google account and the Google Health app. Each purchase includes 3 months of Google Health Premium.
The Fitbit Edge costs $179.99 in the US and the Stephen Curry Special Edition $219.99. Pre-orders are open now and the tracker arrives in stores on October 27, 2026. Google says it will be sold through retail partners as well.
