Best Micellar Water 2026: 5 Compared
WriterPickly Editorial
Updated 2026-11-03
Micellar water is a no-rinse cleanser you put on a cotton pad to wipe off makeup, sunscreen and the day's oil. The five bottles here look almost the same, so the useful differences are in the fine print: what the formula leaves out, which areas the listing covers, and how much liquid you actually get for the money.
Quick answer
Garnier's 13.5 fl oz bottle is the cheapest here at $8.82 on Amazon US on November 3, 2026, and its listing says it is fragrance-free and oil-free. Neutrogena Hydro Boost adds hyaluronic acid for $11.91. La Roche-Posay ($14.99) and Bioderma Sensibio H2O ($19.99) are the pharmacy classics for sensitive skin, and Avène ($24.00) is the priciest, sold as a 3-in-1 cleanser, toner and makeup remover.
📋How we compared
We did not use these micellar waters ourselves. How well a cleanser removes a given mascara, or how a skin type reacts to it, depends on the person and needs repeated use, which we cannot run. This comparison is built from the product titles and feature lists on the Amazon US listings, retrieved through the Amazon Creators API on November 3, 2026, and general knowledge of how micellar cleansers are used. Statements about skin feel, hydration and suitability for sensitive skin are the sellers' own claims, not results we measured. Prices move often, so check the retailer.
💰 Lowest cost per ounce: Garnier's all-in-1 micellar water is a 13.5 fl oz (400 mL) bottle and the cheapest per ounce here. The listing says it is vegan, Leaping Bunny approved, and free of oil, parabens, fragrance, sulfates and silicones, and that it removes makeup, dirt and sunscreen in one step.

What the formula leaves out
If your skin is reactive, the free-from list is the first thing to read. The Garnier listing says the formula is oil-free, paraben-free, fragrance-free, sulfate-free and silicone-free, and vegan. Neutrogena lists free from alcohol, parabens, phthalates and sulfates, and calls the formula non-comedogenic.
The La Roche-Posay and Bioderma listings focus instead on pH: La Roche-Posay says it cleanses at physiological pH, and Bioderma says Sensibio H2O is formulated at skin pH. The Avène listing says it was tested on sensitive skin. None of this replaces a patch test on a small area if you have reacted to cleansers before.
Face, eyes and lips
All five are no-rinse: soak a cotton pad, press it on the skin for a few seconds, then wipe. Garnier and Neutrogena say their formulas were tested by dermatologists and ophthalmologists, and Garnier names the face, lips and eye area. Avène and La Roche-Posay also mention eyes and lips, and Bioderma mentions face and eyes.
None of the five bottles chosen here is sold as a waterproof-makeup version. Garnier sells a separate waterproof micellar water, and heavy waterproof mascara usually comes off more easily with an oil-based remover or a cleansing balm.
Bottle size and cost per ounce
Garnier, Neutrogena and Avène are 13.5 fl oz bottles and La Roche-Posay is 13.52 oz, so they compare directly: about $0.65 per ounce for Garnier, $0.88 for Neutrogena, $1.11 for La Roche-Posay and $1.78 for Avène on November 3, 2026.
The Bioderma listing is called Standard Size but does not give the volume in its title or features, so check the bottle size on the page before comparing its $19.99 price with the others.
