Garmin announced the Edge 1060 on October 20, 2026. It is the company's newest premium cycling computer and the first with voice command capabilities: a built-in microphone and speaker let cyclists keep their hands on the bars while checking ride stats, picking a route, finding points of interest or exchanging voice messages with other Garmin Messenger app users.

Voice control starts with "Okay, Garmin," followed by prompts such as "Report a pothole," "Route me to the closest coffee shop" or "What is my heart rate?" The Edge then changes what is on screen, reads out the requested stats or suggests routes. With the on-device Garmin Messenger app and a connected smartphone, riders can send voice messages from the unit and hear incoming messages, navigation and workout prompts through the speaker. A digital bike bell also plays from the speaker.

New routing features include Route Options (compare routes by ride time, elevation and bike type), Route Previews (distance, estimated ride time, traffic and reported hazards), Up Ahead for selected points of interest, road closure alerts reported by other Garmin cyclists, and Free Flow Routing for routes with the fewest stops and intersections. Hazards can be reported hands-free by voice.

On the training side, the Edge 1060 offers real-time stamina, power guide, cycling ability and course demands, a free Garmin Cycling Coach plan, TrainingPeaks workout sync and GroupRide detection that lets riders join a nearby GroupRide session. The workout screen is now interactive, the home screen can be customized with apps and widgets, and reverse charging can top up a Varia light or a phone over a compatible USB-C cable (not while riding).

Garmin says the Edge 1060 delivers up to 20 hours of battery life in the most demanding use cases and up to 60 hours in battery saver mode. It is available now at a suggested retail price of $799.99; Garmin points buyers to garmin.com for details. Colors and specific retailers are not named in the release.
